This is your pre-Halloween reminder to keep any cats, particularly black or grey, indoors for the few days before and after Halloween. Maybe even consider (at least temporarily) taking in strays if you see them. Twisted people do some nasty things this time of year.

  3. lukatisus said: Last year around this time I found my neighbor’s black cat in extreme distress with a pellet-gun hole through her guts… it was a days-old wound and was septic. Her owners weren’t home so I raced her to the vet, myself. She didn’t make it… I had to keep calling/messaging the owner and their kids until I got an answer to tell them what was going on with their cat and get them to speak to the vet about it. It was distressing, I’d known that kitty since she was a palm-sized kitten
